Česká Lípa is an old town, whose roots go back to perhaps third quarter of the 13th century. Its strategic location - it was founded on the crossroads leading to the territory of modern Germany - has since helped develop its crafts and businesses. In the 18th century it was one of the most populous Bohemian towns. With time, the town became a crossing or six railway roads. Now there are about 40.000 inhabitants in Česká Lípa.
